THINGS TO KNOW

  • You and/or referral source are responsible for obtaining funding for TRC program. TRC does not provide funding. All fees are payable on admission and can be paid by cash, certified cheque, money order, debit, Visa, or MasterCard. All fees are non-refundable.
  • A completed health assessment is required before admission can be arranged.
  • Admission is based on TRC approval of medication.
  • You must be clean/sober minimum of seven (7) days before either Chemical Dependency program and thirty (30) days clean from crystal methamphetamine. Gambling Clients must be clean/sober a minimum 24 hours before admission. Detox clients do not require clean time prior to admission.
  • Legal, dental, medical, or business appointments must not be scheduled during program.
  • Over-the-counter medication must be original containers. Prescription medication must be bubble packed with current, correct dosages with enough for length of stay. ALL MEDICATIONS including vitamins and over-the-counter medications must be turned in to staff. You have access to medications when required.
  • Lockers and locks are available for safekeeping items.
  • For health reasons, footwear must be worn at all times.
  • Laundry facilities are available with no charge for machine use.
  • Staff will only take phone messages for you and will neither confirm nor deny if you are here.
  • You will be restricted to our facility so bring enough personal items required for your stay here.
  • TRC is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is permitted in designated outside area. Chewing tobacco products are not allowed to be used inside the building.
  • Email or Internet access is not provided.
  • TRC does not supply transportation, spending money, or personal care items.
  • One (1) ten-minute phone call per week is allowed on the TRC pay phone.
  • Visiting hours are very restricted. Call for details.
  • On the last day of program please invite family/friends to the Marble Ceremony which starts at 9:00 am (Mountain Standard Time)

YOU MUST BRING ONE OF THE FOLLOWING

  • Return bus ticket or $50.00 for your transportation home.
  • $20.00 extra gas money for your vehicle or provide TRC with a contact name and phone number that will be available 24 hours if you are discharged or if you choose to walk.

These items will be kept in safekeeping by staff at TRC and returned at completion or discharge of program.

 THINGS TO BRING

  • Provincial Health Care Card or your current number.
  • Personal music devices must be used with head/earphones. Please do not bring music devices that play video.
  • Please bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
  • Towels, facecloths, and other personal hygiene items.
  • Bedding is supplied; however, if you have a preferred pillow or blanket, you may bring it.
  • Laundry detergent, pen, paper, and calling cards can be purchased from our canteen.
  • Swim wear for recreation. (not mandatory)
  • Crafts, hobbies, and reading material for free time.
  • 12-Step or other appropriate reading material
  • Casual, weather appropriate clothing.
  • Money for incidentals.
  • Your own over-the-counter medication in the original containers (Tums, Tylenol, vitamins)
  • Bring your cigarettes as TRC does not sell cigarettes on the premises.

 THINGS NOT TO BRING

  • Alarm clocks, clock radios, or cell phones.
  • Tobacco products with alcohol dipped flavours.
  • Clothing suggestive of alcohol, drugs, gambling, sexually suggestive or revealing clothing
  • Electronic equipment such as lap top, palm pilot, portable TV, stereo, video games of any kind, heating pad, electric blanket.
  • Weight-altering food substances/supplements.
  • Mouthwash of any kind.
  • Weapons, including pocketknives.
  • Valuable jewelry.


Absolutely no alcohol, drugs or gambling allowed while in program, and establishments that promote them are off limits.
