Staff Bios
The Thorpe Recovery Centre prides itself on the level of care provided by all staff. With a variety of people employed within the organization, we have staff coming from diverse educational backgrounds. Each person plays a critical role in delivering the programs offered and the overall quality of service.
Director of Clinical Services - Dr. Lisa M. Luciano, PhD, CSAT(4), ICCDPD
She is a seasoned Family therapist with extensive experience and skill in: marriage counseling, family counseling, and adolescent substance dependency.
Psychiatrist - Dr. C.J. Blom M.B., Ch. B (Pret), M. Med (Psy)(UFS)
He has practiced psychiatry in Canada and in South Africa both in private practice as well as in a hospital setting. He has practiced as a general practitioner for almost 40 years.
Residential Psychologist - Michelle Hamilton, M.Ed. R. Psych.
Michelle Hamilton is a Registered Psychologist (College of Alberta Psychologists) and a Certified Professional Counsellor (Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association), with a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Alberta.
Manager of Health Services - Lori Worthing, RN
Lori is currently the Manager of Health Services. Her position primarily is responsible for the personnel management of the Client Care Aids (CCA) and the Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN). Beyond having the education behind her to be a Registered Nurse, Lori is also trained to be a paramedic and a certified safety officer.
Program Coordinator - Todd MacIntyre, MSW, CSAT (1)
As the Program Coordinator at Thorpe, Todd is primarily responsible for the functioning of the residential treatment program. Todd is continuously assessing the program and making changes to the content or material as needed.
Family Program Manager - Jon Rokochy, MA, CSAT (1)
Jon is currently our family program manager and works extensively with the partners and family members of those impacted by addiction. Jon's family program is also used as a local training program for professionals interested in helping those they work with that are struggling with addictive disorders.
Human Resource Manager / IT Coordinator - Krista Dansereau, B.Sc.
Krista has played a vital part in policies and procedures implementation, thorough documentation standards, expert hiring practices, training and development while maintaining our technology infrastructure.
Admissions Coordinator - Faye Diacon, BCR
Faye has an invested passion in the industry with her journey starting with the Thorpe Recovery Centre 15 years ago. In her capacity as admissions coordinator, Faye is the first point of contact for referring agencies, prospective client's and their families when beginning their journey into recovery at TRC.
Assistant Admissions Coordinator - Brenda Hotvedt, CAC II
Brenda works very closely with Faye Diacon in the intake and admissions department, concentrating on clients entering the Detox program and registration for the Family Program.
